Subject: Excited to announce the Cleveland Chapter of IVAW! [Excerpts]

On Sept 3, 2007, Leonard Shelton and I met. Since then we have been working very hard to get a Cleveland Chapter of IVAW together and functioning.

Leonard, who was the coordinator and is now also the President, Jonathan Medina who is the Secretary and James Lange who is the Treasurer, are the chapter officers. Me, Im the organizer (intern) not a vet (but a wife of one) or member myself but I help as much as I can.

Were all very happy, and proud to announce that our hard work has paid off. IVAW now has a Cleveland chapter (chapter 25) and we are ready to work!

So if youre looking for speakers, were waiting to hear from you.

'Jealous' Brian McFadden

Brian McFadden will be "jealous" when former band Westlife perform their 10th anniversary show this year.

Brian, who left the Irish boy band in 2004, has no regrets about pursuing a solo career but admits he is envious of their plans to celebrate a decade in the music industry with a huge concert in their homeland.

He said: "I don't have any regrets leaving Westlife and I don't wish I was with them again. In saying that though, I will be envious the night they finally play the Croke Park stadium in Dublin. That is the pinnacle of any Irish artist's career."

Todd: The power of candidate branding

He spent more time trying to prove he was a status-quo Republican instead of proving he was a competent innovator.

Now, he's trying to go back and prove that he's the closest thing to a change agent the GOP has right now. The sad thing for Romney is that, arguably, that was true 11 months ago. But now, after all the re-branding campaigns to prove that he was a conservative, a Reagan-Bush Republican, Romney's lost the credibility to argue that he can be a change agent.

He attempted to run two simultaneous bio campaigns, one on the Republican front and one on the personal front. Romney's opponents had a field day finding contradiction on the Republican front and it drowned out his attempts on the personal front.

And this explains why he's struggling in New Hampshire. These voters thought they knew Romney; he was a neighboring favorite son; a moderate, pro-business Republican.

CES2008:From my house to bloghaus

Dan Farber was probably working somewhere else, but this is what most of us did Sunday evening at CES2008 in Las Vegas and at Podtech's Bloghaus media event. Name most of the names and you'll win a special prize. It's a short movie.

Renewed US concerns about Vietnamese adoptions leave American parents ...

The embassy statement also describes a suspicious surge in reports of abandoned babies after U.S. adoptions resumed, especially in the rural provinces of Thai Nguyen and Phu Tho, where the DeHarts adopted Xander. Many of the abandonments appear to have been staged, said a U.S. Embassy official who declined to give his name, citing embassy rules. They probably know where the child came from, but they are using false documents to make it difficult for anyone who is trying to figure it out, he said. The concerns about Xander's adoption stem from a date change on his adoption papers, David DeHart said. The form said the baby had been found abandoned in 2007, but apparently someone had changed the year to 2006. U.S. Embassy officials will not discuss specific cases, citing privacy concerns. During September and October, the first two months of the 2007 fiscal year, they raised questions about 13 adoptions.

Yakubu keeps Middlesbrough in line of ire

My football has been good and I have no regrets. I wish Boro the best of luck.

"Before I left Portsmouth, I looked at Middlesbrough and saw they had ambition, but I don’t think the ambition is there any more. I decided to go to Everton because they had more ambition. They are fighting for trophies, they want to finish in the top six and get into Europe.

"At the moment, with no disrespect to the players, Middlesbrough are not that ambitious and that is why I had to leave. I would not say anything bad about their players, but I just wanted to play for a club that was in Europe and I am enjoying my football at Everton.

"Middlesbrough – the club – has changed a bit, but I never regretted playing for Boro at all. I enjoyed my time there, but it was definitely the right time for me to move.

Stop the Bullying, Wal-Mart

Finally, let's take a look from a different perspective: In a society geared toward hyper-consumption and greed, perhaps the real issue isn't Wal-Mart's business plan. Maybe it's us.
